Joe F. Britt, Jr. founded Afero, Inc. in 2014 and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. Joe Britt co-founded Danger, Inc. in 2000 and served as its Chief Technology Officer since December 1999. He was responsible for the intellectual property and software aspects of Danger's technology. Joe Britt has more than 14 years of experience building consumer products. Prior to founding Afero, he spent several years at Google working on Android hardware. He served as Senior Vice President of Software of Danger, Inc. since December 1999. He spent over four years at WebTV Networks, which was acquired by Microsoft in 1995. As the first non-founding employee, he was responsible for the architecture and creation of the system software used in the WebTV set-top boxes. From July 1995 to December 1999, he served as a Senior Software Engineer at WebTV Networks. Prior to joining WebTV, he served as a Senior Software Engineer at Catapult Entertainment, from June 1994 to July 1995. Prior to Catapult, he served as a Software Engineer at the 3DO Company from October 1993 to June 1994. Joe Britt was involved in the design of every hardware product shipped by WebTV and has been awarded 13 patents as a result of his work. . He graduated from the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, and holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from North Carolina State University.
