Edward Garcia, Director of AI, Robotics and Automation; Walmart, Inc. is a seasoned retail professional with over twenty years’ experience. His experience in Operations, Human Resources, Talent Development, and Supply Chain/Logistics give him a unique and well-rounded perspective on the business. Edward consistently leverages his knowledge and business relationships to support the associates and the stores he serves. Edward believes that our associates make the difference and he consistently approaches business decisions with that in mind. In his current role, Edward leads a team that focuses solely on the automation of the mundane to help improve efficiency, boost associate morale, and deliver better service to our customers.
Edward graduated from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico with a degree in Operations Management and he also holds a graduate degree in Global Business Management. Edward rose through the ranks of retail while in college and he continued his career with the world’s largest retailer post-graduation.
Edward started with Walmart in March of 2002 and prior to his current role he has held several positions including: Assistant Store Manager, Co-Manager, Market Human Resource Manager, Regional Trainer, Store Manager, Regional Supply Chain Director, and Director of Implementation and Sustainment.
Edward resides in Bentonville, Arkansas with his wife Leslie and his two teenagers Jarren and Alana. He certainly misses the great New Mexican food of his hometown of Albuquerque, but he is truly enjoying his new locale in Northwest Arkansas.
